Cactus Reminders saves the following on your device only, using Chrome's built-in local extension storage (chrome.storage.local):
Cactus Reminders can show two optional elements on pages you visit: a small draggable cactus companion widget, and a dismissible banner when one of your reminders becomes due. Displaying these requires permission to run on websites. This access is used solely to draw the extension's own interface — page content is never read or transmitted. Both elements can be turned off in the extension's settings.
If break reminders are enabled (they can be turned off in settings), the extension uses the browser's built-in idle-detection signal to count minutes of continuous active use, so it can suggest a water, walk, or eye break after 45 minutes. This produces a single local counter on your device; no activity data, browsing history, or usage information is recorded, stored long-term, or transmitted.
The extension shows desktop notifications and can play a short chime when a reminder is due. The chime is generated locally and can be disabled in settings.
You can export your data as a JSON file from the settings. That file is created locally and saved wherever you choose — it is your copy, under your control, and is never uploaded by the extension.
Uninstalling the extension, or clearing your browser's extension data, permanently deletes everything the extension stored. Because no copies exist anywhere else, deletion is immediate and complete.
The extension collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy ever changes (for example, if a future version adds an optional sync feature), this page will be updated and the "last updated" date revised before that version is released.
